About Us Who We Are

Alexandra House Support Services Ltd is a CIW-registered care provider based in Prestatyn and Denbigh, North Wales. Since opening in 2018, we have been dedicated to delivering high-quality residential, respite, domiciliary and day services for adults aged 18 and over with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, physical disabilities and complex needs.

We understand that choosing the right care can be one of the most important decisions a family makes. That is why we work hard to create services that combine professional standards with the warmth and familiarity of home. Our approach is flexible and tailored, recognising that every individual and family has unique needs.

Our Mission & Values

At Alexandra House, we believe that everyone deserves to live with dignity, independence and choice. Our mission is to provide person-centred support that is tailored to each individual, recognising that no two people are the same. Respect, compassion and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to helping people thrive both within our homes and as part of their wider community.

We place great emphasis on:

  • Dignity and Respect: Every individual is valued and treated with the highest level of respect.

  • Independence: We encourage and support people to do as much as they can for themselves.

  • Inclusion: We promote active involvement in decision-making, daily routines and community life.

  • Quality: We are committed to safe, effective, high-quality care through skilled staff and robust governance.

Our Story

Alexandra House was founded with a clear vision: to create care services shaped by hands-on experience and a true understanding of what families and individuals need. Our Responsible Individual, Tia Hulson, brings more than 19 years of experience in social care, including specialist work in both adult and children’s services. Her journey began as a volunteer supporting adults with profound disabilities, before working with families fleeing domestic violence and later specialising in social work within children’s services and court work.

This broad experience gave Tia a strong insight into the gaps in care provision and the difference that genuinely person-centred, compassionate services can make. Alexandra House was established in 2018 to offer something different — a service built on professional expertise, warmth, and a genuine commitment to helping people live full and meaningful lives.

In 2022, we proudly expanded to open Alexandra House Denbigh Residential Service, enabling us to provide long-term residential care alongside the respite, day and domiciliary services already offered from Prestatyn.

What We Do

We provide a full range of support across North Wales, designed around the needs of each person we care for:

  • Residential Care (Denbigh): 24-hour support in a homely six-bedroom property, offering long-term placements and short respite stays for adults with complex needs.

  • Respite Care (Prestatyn): Planned and emergency overnight breaks in a safe and welcoming environment, giving families peace of mind and individuals the opportunity to thrive away from home.

  • Domiciliary Care: Flexible home-based care, from as little as one hour a week to full 24/7 live-in support, always bespoke to personal needs and preferences.

  • Day Services (Prestatyn): A supportive and engaging setting where individuals can take part in activities, learn life skills, and enjoy meaningful social opportunities within the community.

Our Team

Our staff are experienced, highly trained and passionate about making a difference. Each individual is carefully matched with a key worker, providing consistency, trust and continuity of care. We use the Active Support model to encourage independence, confidence and wellbeing, while ensuring medical, therapeutic and personal care needs are met.

We invest heavily in staff training and development, ensuring our team stays up to date with the latest standards, safeguarding practices and specialist skills required to meet a wide range of complex needs.

Our Community

Both of our services are rooted in local life. In Denbigh, our residential home is set in the heart of a historic market town, surrounded by culture, heritage and green spaces. In Prestatyn, our respite, day and domiciliary services are a short walk from the beach, shops and transport links, making the community easily accessible for those we support.

We believe that being active in the community not only builds independence and confidence but also creates opportunities for friendship, belonging and purpose.

Why Choose Us

Choosing the right support service is an important decision. At Alexandra House, we pride ourselves on being flexible, approachable and focused on the individual. Our services are built on three core principles: personalisation, continuity and quality.

Whether it’s providing a homely residential setting, short respite breaks, tailored home care, or a safe and stimulating day service, our goal is always the same — to deliver support that is truly person-centred, with independence, dignity and wellbeing at the core. Families can feel reassured that their loved ones are not only receiving professional care, but also being welcomed into a warm and supportive environment.
